Encouraging Healthy Habits on our 3rd edition of Rise to Wellness Day
Updated: Jun 23

On the 29th of May, over 100 participants gathered for the 3rd edition of the Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation’s Rise to Wellness Day held at Maison Principale. The guests were provided a light breakfast and visited the curated pop-up shops before the informative sessions began. Teresa Broccolini, Vice-President of Property Management at Broccolini Construction, acted as Mistress of Ceremonies, bringing her warmth and charm to the stage throughout the day.
“We tend to blame ourselves, when we should be better understanding our bodies,” says Carine "Madame Lafraise" Watier. A certified health coach, Carine took centre stage for the 3rd edition of the Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation Rise to Wellness Day, which provided participants with support, strategies, and wellness tools they could use in their daily lives.

Highly regarded in her field of expertise, Carine is an accredited HCA-LHC™ Certified Integrative Health Coach, a Certified Metabolic Balance® Coach, and a Naturotherapist and member of the ANQ. This is Carine’s 3rd year with Wellness Day, where she offered tips on how to fuel your body for better performance in her “Eat Better to Feel Better” presentation. “This was a time to reset, recharge, and reconnect, all in support of mental health”, says Carine. "Connecting with community is always very good for one’s health. We also help people realize they need to put self-care first in their lives. Today, they're going to feel more energized, and they'll feel more rested when they leave."

The day also featured an introduction to the ancient body and mind healing practice of Tai Chi with Hubert Gagnon, an informative class on how to arrange flowers from your garden by Florilège Jardinerie Urbaine, an office reset session on how to manage stress in the workplace by Susan Homa (Founder of Welma Studio), as well as many prizes!
The day ended with a delicious lunch catered by Traiteur Brera, where guests sat attentively for a featured keynote address by the 2026 Walter Cup winning General Manager of the Montreal Victoire, Olympic Gold Medal coach for the women’s
Team Canada hockey team (2022), and Canadian Hockey Hall of Famer (2025) Danièle Sauvageau. The keynote address was moderated by our founder himself, Mr. Barry F. Lorenzetti.

As is customary, we always feature one of the
causes we support, and this year, the emphasis was on the St. Mary’s Hospital’s In-Patient Psychiatry Unit and the important renovations being undertaken to ensure all patients are well taken care of in a modern and dignified hospital setting.
