Our Mission
“To transform lives through mental health advocacy”
Mental health advocacy plays a crucial role in transforming lives by reducing stigma, increasing access to services, and promoting overall well-being. The Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation advocates to create a more supportive and inclusive society where individuals can thrive.
About Us
The Barry F. Lorenzetti Foundation is committed to advancing mental health care initiatives by raising awareness, allowing better access to care, and combatting the stigma surrounding this debilitating illness. Mental health issues comprise a wide array of struggles, including situational bouts of depression, crippling anxiety or debilitating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The Foundation’s current funding portfolio includes:
-
bereavement support for families who have experienced the loss of a child
-
programs addressing PTSD in Veterans
-
hospital infrastructure upgrades that lead to better psychiatric care
-
youth mental health programs for the 9 to 25 age group, including a transition program that accompanies youth into the adult system
-
a proactive approach for underprivileged youth through inclusion in sports programs that provide youth with purpose, all while achieving scholastic excellence
This approach allows for meaningful impact in our community and beyond and helps to eradicate obstacles hindering our Canadian health care system.
