CARING FOR GRIEVING FAMILIES

“CARING FOR GRIEVING FAMILIES” is an integrative support program that accompanies all families at the MCH who have experienced the traumatic loss of a child. Bereavement support is available for families who have experienced the death of a child who has received care through the Montreal Children’s Hospital. The Pediatric Bereavement Follow-Up Program is designed to offer coordinated support and guidance to children and families during the first year following a death, as they navigate the journey of grief. The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation is now part of a Community of Practice (COP) focused on pediatric hospice and palliative care bereavement programs in Canada, based on established standards and best practices across the country.
