Department of Psychiatry’s Renovation In-Patient Psychiatry Unit ~ St. Mary’s psychiatric services extend beyond the department walls, as they treat patients in emergency, the out-patient admission unit and in their external clinics.  In 2022, their psychiatric admission unit had 406 admissions where services focused on recovery and social integration.  Their out-patient clinic treated 2,700 patients with general psychiatric services.  This coupled with an increased demand from the growing geriatric population, young first episode patients, personality disorders, and pregnant and post-partum women lent to the need for more rooms and a larger footprint in the In-Patient Psychiatric Unit within the hospital.  Project timeline is 2025 through 2027 for completion of the renovations.
